This may have already been pointed out, but read the ticket front and back. If it's like in most states, on the back they give you some options. One of them may be to plead guilty but with some explanation - remember, the ticket is for not having a DL on you. Plead guilty (you are BTW) and mail the ticket, then wait for the return instructions - which will have a date on it. Then go to court and present your details. What I have done is go to the DA's office on court day and ask if they can do anything. I have been very lucky with this - usually a small fine with no points!
